The royal plush seal`s crochet crown

A bit ago my daughter Isabel told me that her white plush seal absolutely needs a crown, because, when you come to think of it,- Isabel said - , the seal is not a simple seal but actually a royal seal.

So Isabel asked me to crochet a crown for her plush seal and, as a matter of course, I did what she asked me for. We chose turquoise yarn because it suits the seal best. It fits perfectly with her eyes. Doesn´t it ?

For all those, who have daughters with royal plushies in desperate need of a         crown ;), here´s  the pattern :

You will need :

crochethook 1,25mm + wool needle
100 % cotton yarn Cotone Lana Grossa  in a colour of your choice
silver metallic yarn

Abbreviations
ch(s)    = chain(s)
sc(s)     = single crochet
st(s)     = stitch(es)
dec.     = decrease
slst(s)  = slip stitch(es)
rnd(s)  = round (s)
tog.      = together

Round 1: make a ring of 28 chs and close it  (28)
Round 2: 1 sc in each stitch around   (28)
Round 3-5: 1 sc in each stitch around   (28)

Make a round of 28 slsts with silver metallic yarn, fasten off

Turn the crown and start to work the crown prongs on the opposite side

First crown prong:
Row 1: insert hook in any stitch on the opposite side and make 5 scs  (5)
Row 2: 1 sc in each stitch (5)
Row 3: 1 sc in each stitch (5)
Row 4: dec. 2 scs: make 1 sc in first two sts of row 3 tog , make 1 sc in next st, make 1 sc in last two sts of row 3 tog  (3)
Row 5: 1 sc in each stitch (3)
Row 6: 1 sc in each stitch (3)
Row 7: dec. 1 sc: make 1 sc in first two sts of row 6 tog , make 1 sc in next st  (2)
Row 8: dec. 1 sc: make 1 sc in  both sts of row 7 tog  (1)
Fasten off.
Second crown prong:

Row 1 : insert hook in the same stich like the 5ths sc of the first crown prong and make 5 scs  (5) Work the second crown prong in the same way like the first.

Work five  other crown prongs I the same way.
Pay attention to the fact that the first and the fifths sc of the first row of each crown prong is sharing the stich with the prong next to it.

Make a round of slsts with silver metallic yarn  around the 7 crown prongs, fasten off
I hope you will have much joy crocheting this little crown and let me please know what do you all think about it.

It`s never too early for Christmas, is it ?

I know Christmas is still two months away but it´ s never too early to think about it, right ?  Especially as a crocheter. So I´m very excited to introduce you today six  Christmassy crochetprojects from the  Dani and Bel -series:
Like the long Dolls Lotte and Paul a few month ago. the patterns will be published in German crochet magazine:  "Diana - Häkeln für Weihnachten" , and, -yes-, I`m very happy about that.
I had so much fun to crochet this little dolls, particularly the guardian angel and I hope, that it will be the same for all those interested in  crocheting the dolls themselves.
The magazine is available online: http://www.shop.oz-verlag.de/27/?aid=7052&acode=ag76667&cid=32 (it´s in german language).

Let me please know what do you all hink about the dolls !!
